The purpose of this website is to celebrate the legacy and joy of the Class of 1991... to look back with a fondness on a time gone by... and to ensure it is a time not forgotten. |
It was May 28, 1991, when the graduation ceremonies began. Friends and family members watched, smiled and sniffled as the individual members of the class of 1991 walked across the auditorium stage to collect their hard earned diploma.
The place of Muleshoe High School, a small school in a tiny west Texas community. After the ceremonies, most of the 79 graduating seniors congregated together in nervous excitement. Most rushed off to celebrate, congratulating each other on this momentous occation. Many of the graduating class had known each other almost their entire lives. They were friends, classmates and, in a sense almost family. And yet, when they left each other that evening, they vanished. Fading from each others lives into a distant, yet important memory. Here I will introduce you to the Class of 1991. I hope to locate classmates and fill the 15 year gap we've built. Check back often for updates and news of what I learn about the Class of 1991... If you know the whereabouts of a 1991 Graduate of Muleshoe High School please go under the contact us section of the website. |

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM "DEAR ABBY"
DEAR ABBY: This is for all those people who don't want to go to their class reunions because they weren't popular - or didn't belong to the "in" crowd in high school and they thought no one would want to talk to them anyway. I didn't think anyone would talk to me either, but my husband and I decided to go to my 20th high school reunion. Abby, it was the best move we ever made. People were actually glad to see us! (We both graduated from the school, but in different years.) I hugged more people in two days than I had hugged in 20 years! I have never felt such a sense of love and belonging as I did at that reunion. There were no pretenses of where we came from since most of us came from working-class families; we came home to be together. I even made peace with an old enemy! For those who organized that reunion in Pittsburgh, thank you from the bottom of my heart. For those who didn't make the effort to attend - you missed a wonderful weekend. -- YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN
DEAR YOU CAN: Because you took the trouble to write, perhaps those who were lukewarm about going "home" for a class reunion will reconsider. Thanks for writing. Thanks, too, for mentioning those generous people who organize class reunions. They require a ton of work, and not many are willing to tackle the job.

Some Random Info That is why after several years go by, there is some interest by all classmates to attend their high school reunion. The cool kids want to re-live their youth and visit the grounds where they felt on top of the world, and the nerds want to show everyone how far they have come. There are other things that come into play as well. As time passes, classmates put on weight, and lose their hair. The real question is how much hair and how much weight. This is the number one thing that brings people together for class reunions - curiosity. Beyond that, there is the desire to rekindle the relationships that were so important in our teen years. We will never forget our high school friendships or the experiences that were critical in molding who we are today. In a class reunion survey done by http://Myevent.com 87% of classmates that attended their class reunion found the reunion to be extremely gratifying, and said they would attend the next class reunion as well. So, whether out of curiosity, to show off, or for re-establishing old ties, class reunions seem to be more popular than ever. It is indeed noteworthy that reunions have become a fabric of our society. In the last year, many old television shows have had reunion episodes and a whole series was devoted to a high school reunion. So, if you should get an invitation to your high school reunion, do not pass on the chance to go back in time and re-visit old friends and foes. You may be able to reconnect with some of your best friends you have ever had and establish new relationships with people you didn’t even know existed. |
